Caribbean Food
BB's Crabback Caribbean Restaurant in West Ealing has been wowing customers since
1993. Our aim has always been to let Britain experience the tastes and colours
of the Caribbean in general, and Grenada in particular.
I have been fortunate enough to receive some rave reviews, many of which are detailed
in the 'review section' on this web site. I have been featured in Time Out since the restaurant opened and for two years won its Critic's Choice award.
Since 1997 the growing popularity of BB's has been accelerated by a number of
appearances on both Radio and TV. I have also had the fantastic honour of twice
hosting a Caribbean lunch for the West Indian Cricket Team. The guys were so keen
to get back to my food that they didn't like to linger at the crease… or so rumour
has it.

Brian Benjamin
Celebrity Chef
I was born on the 29 June 1958 in Grenada, and arrived in the UK in 1971. My grandmother
was the greatest influence on my cooking. It is she who taught me how to use and
combine the various ingredients of Caribbean cooking, and how to imbue food with
a distinctive, personal character. All the recipes she taught me now appear on
the menu at BB's Crabback Caribbean Restaurant.
I served my apprenticeship at London Transport and took all the necessary City
and Guilds qualifications, which among other things gave me a thorough grounding
in classical French cooking. After this I spent a number of years working through
the hierarchy of the Renaissance Hotel at Heathrow, and competed and won many
Salon Culannaire awards. At the latter end of 1993 I realized my life long ambition
of opening a restaurant of my own, giving people the chance to experience the
tastes, flavors and sheer character of the food I enjoyed as a child.
